In the deepest depths of my despair in 2005 I wandered into Shakti Yoga in Staten Island, NY and found my way. I was in a corporate career for 20 years in NYC and I was over-consuming, overindulging and quite frankly sick of myself and my world. Yoga became for me my light in the darkness and now its become my way of life.
In 2015 I became a RYT 200 hour Certified Yoga Instructor through Bhava Yoga Brattleboro and went on to found and operate my own successful yoga studio for 1.5 years, Up the Hill Yoga in West Townshend, VT. I have over 1,000 hours teaching in various disciplines including Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga Nidra.
I strongly believe in the nourishing power of this ancient discipline on every level: physical, psychological and spiritual. My hope is to make yoga accessible to students of any age, background or physical ability while creating an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and safe.
I’m an aspiring blogger. I also love sharing my Puerto Rican heritage with the wider community through Latin music and dance, volunteering in community projects and hiking in the forest. I was born in Manhattan and raised in the South Bronx.
I am currently on a journey of discovery in Porto, Portugal.
WC T., Castine, ME – 2/6/2017 Judy is amazing. Great patience with those of us who are flexibility challenged (me) or a gifted yogi (my wife). The atmosphere is excellent and she is really knowledgeable. If you are staying at Windham Hill you can just walk over to the studio and be back in time for a fabulous lunch.
Deirdre P., Hamden, CT – 10/25/2016 Judy, the owner and instructor for Up the HIll Yoga, is incredibly accommodating. We were staying at the Windham Hill Inn nearby and wanted to fit some yoga into our weekend plans. We were able to easily schedule a private session and she customized our class to meet our requests for specific body work. Clearly Judy is experienced, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend Judy for yoga if you are in the Southern Vermont area.
