Dinacharya for Radical Self Change
Dinacharya is a Sanskrit word derived from two root words: “dina” meaning day and “acharya” meaning behavior or regimen. Dinacharya, therefore, means daily routine. In Ayurveda, there is much emphasis placed on healthy habits developed by practicing a mindful and informed dinacharya. In fact, one of the most important things for radical self change is to create a healthy daily routine. We will come to understand how simple, routine practices can bring more enjoyment, peace and improved health into our lives. In this hands-on workshop, we will practice some self care therapies including: self oil massage, oil pulling, administration of nasal drops and eye drops and more. Come join us for this fun and interactive workshop!
Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old system of natural healing that translates from Sanskrit as “knowledge of life.” It is an ancient and practical science that teaches us how to achieve balance and health by restoring the cosmic, natural and seasonal rhythms to body, mind and spirit. The seers who brought Ayurveda to us understood that, like the natural world, we are also made up of the elements: Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth; and we can choose those foods, activities and thoughts that keep our elemental constitution in balance. Come learn how your Prakriti (elemental constitution) can best be nurtured to create robust health and a deep sense of well being!
